CBP Reopens Review of Enhanced Retirement Benefit Eligibility

U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) announced that it is reopening, for a six-month period, a review process during which CBP employees who were initially denied eligibility for the NTEU-won CBP Officer (CBPO) enhanced retirement benefit can request reconsideration. CBP, however, has told NTEU that it will not open up eligibility to any additional CBP occupations. This is only for CBP employees who were initially denied the enhanced retirement benefit.

NTEU urges all CBP employees who were denied the enhanced retirement coverage to review CBP's announcement and to submit or resubmit their appeal with supporting documentation by the July 6 deadline.

E-mail DHS with questions or visit NTEU's LEO Information Center.
